Tomorrowland will expand to two weekends in 2017
It'll still probably sell out in less than an hour
Tomorrowland has become well-known for selling out in record time - in 2016, the entire festival sold in 40 minutes without an announced roster, so it comes as little surprise that the festival plans to expand to two weekends in 2017.
This isn't the first time that Tomorrowland has taken place over two weekends. In 2014, Boom & Rumst's local government granted special permits for double weekends of Tomorrowland to celebrate its 10th anniversary. However, this time the festival's expansion comes without a special occasion attached, bringing hope for fans that this may be a permanent change.
Tomorrowland said in a statement that "the purpose of [hosting the festival over 2 weekends] is to meet the huge demand for tickets from international and local fans. Meanwhile, with the blessing of the municipalities of Boom & Rumst, we can go ahead and start preparing for two weekends as of next summer.”
Tomorrowland 2017 takes place in Belgium from July 21 to 23 and July 28 to 30.
