Belgium's Tomorrowland is offering DJ slots to aspiring artists under the age of 18 as part of the Tomorrowland Academy.

The festival announced that a handful of DJs aged nine to 17 are set to perform at its flagship event in Boom, Antwerp this summer, which takes place across two weekends.

“Tomorrowland and the Tomorrowland Academy inspire young talents to cultivate and enhance their skills,” the festival announced on Instagram yesterday (June 19).

Amongst the young artists performing at the event this year is British internet sensation DJ Archie, dubbed “the world’s youngest DJ” at age 9, who last year became the youngest artist to perform at Glastonbury Festival.

Belgian artist DJ Daan, aged 14, will also make his return to the festival as part of the Tomorrowland Academy after his debut in 2023 where he received a surprise on-stage visit from Dimitri Vegas.

The academy was set up to give young artists a launchpad into their music careers, offering both offline and online classes and training schemes.

All seven young artists selected to perform will play over Tomorrowland’s two weekend programme from July 19 - 28, 2024. They’ll play across stages including House of Fortune, Atmosphere, The Rose Garden, and Rise.

Ahead of this year’s edition, Tomorrowland also offers a kids DJ academy camp from July 8 - 12 where mentors will provide their skills to aspiring DJs ages eight to 16, offering the chance to perform at Tomorrowland’s Neighborhood Party in July.

Tomorrowland celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, with a line-up including Armin van Buuren, Bonobo, Four Tet, Sama’ Abdulhadi, The Blessed Madonna, and more.
