Tom Ellis

Tom Ellis is an under-the-radar producer and DJ, but it’s hard to see why: over the past decade he’s put out six full-length albums and countless EPs of deep, moody and minimal house.

His latest release, a sumptuous and smoky eight-track affair for Brighton label Black Key, should bring him some more recognition.

Full of widescreen atmospheric grooves, supple rubber kicks and spiritual pads, it’s heady and hypnotic.

Ellis’ own live drums and knack for proper jazz permeates throughout, adding a luxurious and musical feel to an LP that also works on the dancefloor. There will be few better in 2016.
