Dutch duo Tinlicker have shared their third album via [PIAS] Électronique, 'Cold Enough For Snow'.

The record showcases the pair's production nuance, reinforcing their increasingly signature melodic sonic identity with emotive takes from indie, soul-infused vocals and lyricisim and odes to orchestral instruments, too.

A host of collaborations feature across its 13 tracks including Nathan Nicholson, Tom Smith, Circa Waves, Cloves and Brian Molko, with focus track 'Glasshouse' featuring South African vocalist and producer Julia Church.

"This was the first track we did with South African based singer Julia Church and her silk voice just turns this song into a warm bath that you want to last forever," the pair tell Mixmag. "'Glasshouse' echoes this familiar feeling of safety, like coming home.

"When we work with a specific singer we always want to know what they like so we can ensure they’ll like the collaboration as much as we do," they continue on the collaborative nature of the latest LP. "During the creative process we’ll always check in with the artist and see if they like the direction we’re taking. But every song is different. Sometimes we just have a rough sketch with a few chords that we send over and the end result will be totally different, sometimes we send in a track that is close to being finished, but just needs that right vocal.

"The challenge for this album was to create as much as possible with just audio files and samples. And use less soft synthesisers. These are ‘rules’ we create to keep things interesting for ourselves, or to come out of the comfort zone. So where we normally use a synthesiser we tried from time to time to find a sample. And the sample could come from everywhere; even from voice notes on a smartphone."

To accompany the album launch, the pair will head on a European and North American album tour to showcase their live sound. All dates can be found here, but notable stop-offs in Europe include Troxy London, Marble Factory in Birstol, the Gashouder in Netherlands and Mandela Hall in Belfast.
