There’s now a Berghain card game
“A game about getting in.”
Let’s face it, getting into Berghain is a bit of a game. You have to strategise. What clothes should year wear? What facial expression should you pull? How many people should you enter with? What time should you arrive? The list of tactics employed to get past notorious doorman Sven Marquardt goes on.
This experience has been translated into virtual reality before with the Berghain Trainer simulation. Now someone has created a card game that flips the roles.
It’s titled Berghain ze Game, and places you in Sven’s position. Describing the gameplay, the developers write “your job is to let the right people into legendary Berlin techno club Berghain. Take turns as the most powerful man in Germany and learn more about gay culture in the process!”
Character cards include the colourful crew of people you can expect to find in the line of Kreuzberg's renowned nightspot on any given weekend, including ketamine fiend, tourist and leather daddy.
The game is currently in development, with a Kickstarter to raise funds launched soon. Check out a promotional video from Bergain ze Game’s Instagram below.
