There's a "new Ibiza" being built in Dubai
Dream Island in Ras Al Khaimah's set to be completed in 2018
Dubai will soon be the place to rave away your summers... Apparently. There is a party-focused, man-made island being built just outside of the mega rich United Arab Emirates city.
Dream Island (yep, it really is called that) will have two mega clubs, four beach clubs, five hotels, a load of restaurants and, reports say, won't have any alcohol prohibition as is the case in Dubai. According to sales and marketing director George Saad, the plan is to make Dream Island the "new Ibiza" which is dedicated "solely to partying".
Don't get us wrong, Ibiza's not the cheapest of places, but with all those cash-loaded British expats and oil sheiks over there, no doubt a drink or two will more or less empty your pockets. Plus, judging by the very strict anti-drug laws over there, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to get caught with strong pills kicking about.
It might be swimming in money - with developers looking for £3.2billion of investment - but a handful of clubs isn't exactly going to make it the new Ibiza, is it? It's all about the Balearic sunshine for us.
