London’s The Cause has announced five parties to celebrate its fifth birthday.

To kick off the series on February 24, The Cause will be throwing a fundraiser at its current home of 60 Dock Road for those affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria, with the line-up yet to be announced.

On March 18, the second event will feature an extended four hour set from legendary New York house music duo Masters at Work, made up of Louie Vega and Kenny Dope. They will be playing a sunset-timed ‘MAW Lost Tapes’ set, digging out a number of unreleased tracks made over the past 32 years.

Part III on Friday April 7 will see a takeover from local promoters Alien Communications, who bring Swiss minimal house icon Sonja Moonear to 60 Dock Road. She will play alongside an extended set from Evan Baggs B2B Ryan Elliot and Chicago techno DJ Hiroko Yamamura, who will make her UK debut.

The details for the fourth and fifth events are yet to be announced, apart from that part four will be a boat party, and the final party will be the official birthday.

Announcing the celebrations on Instagram, The Cause wrote in a statement: “Five years ago, in 2018 we took over what was intended to be a single room club space in an ex-car mechanics.

“When we opened those doors at Ashley Road for the first time, we never could have anticipated how our story would develop,” it continued.

“Multiple spaces, pop ups, a festival and endless ups, downs, twists and turns later, we’re still here.

“Five years in, the story so far has given us much to celebrate.

“We’ll be making a lot of noise and marking this milestone in a big big way and we can’t wait to fill you in with what’s in store.”

After The Cause’s original home on Ashley Road closed on January 1 2022, since July it has been hosting parties at 60 Dock Road in Silvertown, East London.
