Stefan Ringer has released his latest EP, 'Soulflow'.

Available via Bristol's Black Acre, the four-tracker sees the Atlanta native trace a lineage of sonic references from throughout his career. All sonic avenues are covered; think radiant, soulful house to machine funk and beyond.

The record's eponymous opener is an uplifting offering, driven by the musician's vocal treatments whilst 'What's Your Sign' thereafter channels minimal hypnotism by venturing into hazier territory. 'Cleanse' follows, exploring Ringer's musical heritage by giving a grateful nod to 2000s dubstep, welcoming glittering keys and improvised melodies to construct a nifty halftime cut.

'Body Know' brings proceedings to a close, fusing echoed vocals with a driving analogue funk. It's a particularly interesting track, born out of an experiment with a bass guitar and beatboxed percussion, and embodies precisely the sentiment behind the 'Soulflow' EP.

"I'm trying to tie the threads between an ever-expanding pool of sounds,” Ringer explains. “My approach to production looks beyond the restraints of formal genre, and instead towards community, offering new sonic frameworks for others to soundtrack their own personal journeys."
