Spotify playlist: Songs to get you through the SAD months
Strictly warm vibes to sooth your Seasonal Affective Disorder
Winter is by far the most depressing season. The freezing walk between leaving the covers and getting in the shower, five layers of clothing barely staving off the frosty winds outside, leaving the office in pitch darkness: it can really get you down.
Around this time of year, many people suffer from the condition known as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), a form of depression linked to the bleakness of wintery conditions and a lack of sunlight.
With this in mind, we’ve curated a playlist of ecstatic tunes to substitute for the sun this during these SAD months. Even if you’re shivering as you walk home through a dark side street, stick your headphones in and crank these up to 11 and it’ll be like transporting yourself to the blissful summer of the Southern Hemisphere.
We’ve got fizzing UK bass from Rustie, glorious house from Frankie Knuckles, sing-a-long anthems from Madison Avenue and Deee-Lite, exultant disco from Caprice, and plenty more besides.
So if you need a pick-me-up, turn the SAD lamp up bright and the speakers up loud and get stuck in below.
