Sounds From The Other City share first names for its 17th edition
The festival showcases the best in independent sounds from Salford, Manchester and the Northern underground
Sounds From The Other City festival has shared its first wave of names on the programme for its 17th edition for a day-to-night session on April 30.
Taking place across 13 venues in Salford, the event is set to continue its championing of eclectic sounds which represent Salford, Manchester and the northern underground.
Attendees can expect a range of sounds from soul, RnB, garage, alt-pop, electronica and all in-between across venues including pubs, churches, studios, warehouses and spaces including Islington Mill, The White Hotel, Fivefourstudios and more.

Across a bill of 100 artists and 27 promoters, names on the initial announcement include The Beatriarchy, Chandé, Gracie T, MC Skittles and Jenna G with promoters hosting spaces including Now Wave, Reform Radio, Partisan Collective, Hey! Manchester and Heavenly Recordings.
“SFTOC is about championing the independent and progressive music scene in Greater Manchester and welcoming some of the most exciting new names in music to our home in Salford," explains Festival Director Mark Carlin. "And whilst some of those names will undoubtably go onto great success, we’re not interested in a beauty contest with winners and losers; we're about uniting as much creative energy as we can in one place, on one day, and setting it off in one giant party on Bank Holiday Sunday."
Afterparties will will take place in The White Hotel, Islington Mill, The Old Pint Pot and Fivefourstudios, with each individual session offering different sounds and vibes and extending the festival long into the night.
