Shlohmo releases new EP 'Heaven Inc.'

Shlohmo released his latest EP ‘Heaven Inc.’ this Friday September 4 via Friends Of Friends.

To herald the EP release, Shlohmo is releasing a video for the title track directed by LA-based experimental visual studio Actual Objects, who have previously collaborated with clients like Baauer, Kanye West and Travis Scott.

Similarly to Shlohmo’s other works, ‘Heaven Inc.’ as an EP is contemplative and angsty, buzzing with uncertainty. Lead single ‘Looking At Plants’, with its downtempo hip hop beat and throbbing guitars, embodies the attempt to find peace in one’s surroundings while the storm rages on inside.

An EP highlight is the aptly named ‘Misanthrope’, a brooding track that feels incredibly 90s: gothic, grand, and yet still very self-contained.

Shlohmo has commented on the new EP, saying it speaks to the “latest entry on the human condition, angst and dread, and trying to find truth in this weird world. Fear of the future, hopeful delusion, distrust in power, futility, moments of escape, moments of warmth, floating above and passing through.”

‘Heaven Inc.’ is a development of Shlohmo’s 2019 full-length release ‘The End’ in which he contemplated the apocalypse and end of days.
