SBTRKT teases first new music in six years

SBTRKT is returning with new music after a six years hiatus.

Yesterday the UK artist, whose real name is Aaron Jerome, released a video announcing his new project: ‘BODMIN MOOR Prequel’.

Directed by THE REST, the video shows a child wearing the mask seen on the cover of his previous self-named album as well as an animation of a cartoon character in the same mask.

In 2021 SBTRKT hinted at his return to music after posting about the ten-year anniversary debut album writing: "Maybe one day I will play some of the unreleased off-cuts from the album and also perform it as one record on its own! I guess more importantly - I've been writing new music for quite a while... it's been too long but good shit takes time and I can't wait to share it with you."

Since then, artist Huxley has tweeted: “what happened to SBTRKT man” which SBTRKT retweeted with a link to the Vanishing Post.

SBTRKT’s last release was the 2016 album ‘Save Yourself’ and has also remixed work for NAO and posted on Soundcloud an unreleased remix of Chance The Rapper.
