Ross From Friends in The Lab LDN
It's going to get emotional
The Lab LDN is Mixmag and Coors Light's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous office party.
This Friday on the release day of his debut album ‘Family Portrait’ we have Ross From Friends rolling through to spin a DJ set.
The artist, real name Felix Clary Weatherall, made a considerable impact when his track ‘Talk To Me You’ll Understand’ surfaced online in 2015. It’s now amassed over 4 million YouTube hits, and he’s navigated the whirlwind of hype to bring his brand of emotionally resonant house to labels such as Magicwire, Lobster Theremin and Brainfeeder, through which his first full-length is coming.
Titled ‘Family Portrait’, the record takes inspiration from the diet of dance music he was raised on by his parents, who met while travelling Europe as with a soundsystem in 1990. Footage of the trip is used in the recent video for LP cut ‘Pale Blue Dot’.
You can pre-order the album here, and catch Ross From Friends touring the album worldwide across summer and autumn, including a Rough Trade East in store on August 1. See the full list of live dates here.
The live stream starts at 5pm BST this Friday, July 27, you can tune in live over on our Facebook page and re-watch on MixmagTV from 6pm BST.
