Risen 2023 shares line-up for its second edition in April

London's Risen festival has announced its first names for its second edition, taking place on April 1 in Hackney Wick.

Attendees can catch names such as EMERALD, Paramida, Heléna Star, Michelle Manettianetti and Mixtress, who are part of a 90-strong line-up covering a range of soundscapes from bass and garage to house, disco and techno.

The festival - which held its flagship event last year - is conceptualised around the 'divine feminine', and reflects the diversity of electronic music in terms of both representation and sounds on offer. It'll span across spaces including Colour Factory, The Yard, Crate Brewery, and All My Friends.

Its ethos aims to spotlight talent ranging from rising musicians, to international names and locally in-demand crews, all of who represent the feminine energy, with a key focus on visibility and inclusion for all.

"We feel so lucky to be organising an event which has an ethos so close to our hearts," explain co-founders Kitty Bartlett and Alice Franklin. "Last year’s event was an incredible day of love and unity across Hackney Wick’s dancefloors, with an ecstatic energy.

"Year one was incredible, and we've been overwhelmed with the interest in Risen and how many people want to be a part of year two, continuing to build the community (attendees, artists and BTS) and provide a space to celebrate the divine feminine. This has always been super important to us we first started conceptualising this event. Risen is a joint effort from everyone involved, so thanks to all who have supported and been involved. Divine Feminine Energy is here to stay."

The charity partner for Risen's 2023 edition is Strut Safe, an organisation dedicated to making queer people, people of colour, and anyone who needs them feel safe walking home. You can find out more about their work here.

Afterparties following the day-long event are set to be announced "in coming weeks".

Whilst super early bird tickets have sold out, pre-sale to get yours goes live on January 30 with general sale going live on January 31. They'll range in price from £15-30. RSVP here, and find the full line-up below.
