Richard Fearless (DJ Richard Remix)
DJ Richard aka the master of the deep and ethereal
At the end of last year Richard Fearless dropped 'Overview Effect', a two track EP that showcased a metalic, dub techno sound via his own Drone imprint.
The label took a break after launching in 2004 so fans of Fearless and his Death in Vegas alter-ego can rejoice at the steady flow of new music we've experienced over the last few years.
Further to that, two new remixes of his latest EP are about to drop and while they may veer off in different directions, both of them showcase just how remixable Richard's music is. Luke Hess takes on 'Overview Effect' while White Materials boss DJ Richard takes on 'Metal Dub' and we've secured the first spin of the latter's remix.
We've got a lot of time for DJ Richard and we reckon he's one of the best producers in the game if you're after deep, ethereal and washed-out electronic music. We had his remix of Radio Slave's 'Werk' on repeat when we premiered it last year and it's a good indication of what DJ Richard does best.
His edit of 'Metal Dub' is more of the luscious, transcendent same we've come to love, with soft pads, deep, whirring synths and jittery analogue percussion reverberating from the off. To put it simply, this is beautiful.
The 'Overview Effect' remixes will be released on April 22
