Quincy Jones to celebrate Michael Jackson in rare concert this year
Quincy will perform three Michael Jackson albums at The O2 in London
Quincy Jones has announced a concert to celebrate Michael Jackson albums this year.
For the first time ever, Quincy will be performing three of his most iconic works, the Michael Jackson albums ‘Off the Wall’, ‘Thriller’ and ‘Bad’, back-to-back on June 23 and The O2 in London. The albums, which Quincy produced, have sold over 150 million copies combined and serve as some of the most influential pop records of all time.
Jones has enlisted the help of a symphony orchestra, which will be conducted by Jules Buckley and Quincy himself, to perform the trio of landmark albums. The show will also feature performances from some very special guests, which are yet to be announced.
The announcement of the concert comes amid controversy around an upcoming documentary about sexual abuse allegations against Michael Jackson. The singer's estate has complained to HBO about the doc which is due to air on March 3.
Tickets go on general sale on February 15 at 9am through Ticketmaster.
