Pubs in England can open at 6am on Saturday

6am is usually the time you're rolling out of a club. Now it's the time pubs in England can open this weekend as coronavirus lockdown measures are reduced.

The government has officially announced 6am on Saturday as the time pubs can reopen. The government has chosen this time to stop anyone from trying to "attempt to try to open at midnight" as Friday turns into Saturday.

Pints will be able to be drunk inside pubs for the first time since March, when lockdown was enforced due to Covid-19. It's believed pubs will not put a limit on the amount of time people can stay inside.

The official spokesman for UK prime minister Boris Johnson said: "It's not part of the regulations, as I understand it.

"Pubs, and restaurants in particular, as I'm sure lots of us will know, do sometimes put limits on the amount of time you can have a table for, for example."

According to Sky News, Ralph Findlay, chief executive of the pub and hotel operator Marston's PLC, has said people who go to the pubs will not have to provide personal details.

He said: "The government has introduced guidelines and I support those guidelines, but they are guidelines, they're not strict rules."

Findlay also said staff will not be made to wear masks.

It's gonna be lively weekend.
