Premiere: Murlo ensures his blazing run of form continues on 'I Need'

The music of Murlo never fails to mesmerise us at Mixmag. As soon as it seeps through the office speakers the zingy, winding melodies will have us moving at an instant and have us singing his praises.

"Swear every Murlo tune is a banger" one comment reads on our 2014 premiere of 'You & Me', a hook-up with TRC. That's a comment that's got a lot of substance, particularly when you jump into his 'Into Mist' EP on Rinse and the bouncy, bass spectrum-travelling 'Odyssey' on Mixpak.

The quality consistency continues on the 'Club Coil' EP on Mixpak, the New York label that's welcomed the likes of Vybz Kartel, Popcaan and GAIKA into the fold. Now an adopted family member, Murlo's invited singer Gemma Dunleavy to join him on 'I Need' and they take us on an elasticated trip of cyber-like groans and classic bubblegum Murlo melodies.

The 'Club Coil' EP is out on Mixpak on May 19
