Premiere: Mikey Lion and Sacha Robotti groove together on 'Ol' Dirty Hearts'
The title track off their collaborative EP calls upon a rare ODB sample
Desert Hearts head honcho Mikey Lion first met Sacha Robotti in 2015 at Dirtybird Campout, but it wasn't until a year later when Berlin native Robotti made his official move to Los Angeles that the two began to find a serious groove together.
It's not a surprise that the two would gel, both thanks to their happy-go-lucky personalities and their thunderous, bass beat sounds. After working in the studio together, what's arrived is a two-track EP titled 'Ol' Dirty Hearts', an ode not only to each of their label homes (Desert Hearts and Dirtybird), but also to the rare sample from rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard on the title track.
'Ol' Dirty Hearts' marked a major moment for both Mikey and Sacha when they came together to play it out at The Do Lab at Coachella. Watch the video below.
The first of the fiery pair of tunes arrives below on Mixmag after receiving massive support from Justin Martin, Doc Martin, J. Phlip, Huxley, Will Clarke, Cut Snake and more, and the entire EP is available for a free download here.
