Premiere: Laurence Guy weaves house magic with ‘Saw You For The First Time’
A gem from the forthcoming LP
Since linking up with Peckham-based label Church in 2015, Laurence Guy has taken some serous strides into the dance world with his immaculately laidback house jams.
His breakthrough came on the label in 2015 with the ‘Kojak’ EP, a much sought-after release of bleary-eyed tracks perfect for a summer afternoon that he followed up with last year’s ‘Bamboo’ EP.
Now he’s back on the imprint with a full album of possibly his best material to date. 'Saw You For The First Time’ is 10 tracks of blissful house featuring collaborations with the legendary Steve Spacek and Bristolian Ishmael.
The title track, which we have the pleasure of premiering, sums up the album; fresh, earthy and mellow at all the right points while still keeping an ear out for the dancefloor. No wonder it’s made it’s way into Move D’s sets.
