Premiere: KDA flips Busy P’s ‘Genie’ into a dancefloor bomb
Kicking up the energy on the Ed Banger boss' latest
Busy P returns to his Ed Banger Records imprint with ‘Genie’, a synth laden collaboration with Mayer Hawthorne that’s accompanied by a dancefloor focused remix by London based producer KDA.
By increasing the energy of the original, KDA delivers a peak-time house track that highlights the vocal hook of Mayer Hawthorne while keeping the soulful essence of Busy P’s original alive.
It’s been two years since Busy P released on his label following ‘Gipsy Life’. The return is a prime example of the former Daft Punk manager’s distinct style. The release also comes with a remix by Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and an experimental version by Reckonwrong.
Look for Busy P’s ‘Genie (KDA Remix)’ be released March 31.
