Premiere: Jesse Rose transforms DJ complaints into a sassy house kicker 'What You Talkin' 'Bout'
A teaser from his upcoming Play It Down album
Having only announced his impending retirement in late 2016, Jesse Rose is making quick moves to unveil the first listens of what is set to be his final album, 'Alright Mate'.
After revealing the first single off his album called 'In My Mind', Rose returns with yet another jumping house slice off his upcoming LP called 'What You Talkin' 'Bout'. "It's funny because I started to make this track as a complete joke," Jesse says of the backstory behind the cheeky tune. "I’d been recording vocals for 12 hours and we just recorded this vocal moaning about people coming up to us while DJing and annoying the ass out of us, but when I tested it out a few times in my sets, the reactions were great. So it made the album!"
Listeners will spot those woes easily in the vocal that responds back to an imaginary person ceaselessly bothering the DJ. "I don't play drum 'n' bass, I don't play EDM", the vocal chants.
'Alright Mate' is out on Play It Down on March 15. Listen to 'What You Talkin' 'Bout' in the meantime below.
