Premiere: Cry Baby unveils a female-centric new label with 'Roses Are Dead'
The Brooklyn artist's new imprint FM Elle receives a worthy first debut
Brooklyn-based techno talent and Smirnoff Sound Collective artist Cry Baby has already made several impressive strides to cement her footing as a rising underground talent in the scene, and today she adds yet another accolade to her still young career with the introduction of her new imprint, FM Elle.
FM Elle is a multi-city and female-focused techno and house music collective that is curated by a group of women and placed an emphasis on nurturing and highlighting female talent, though not exclusively. Her label debuts with a release from the producer herself, a sultry and teasing tune called 'Roses Are Dead'.
The track was created after an especially inspiring session Cry Baby attended with the Smirnoff Sound Collective, where she headed out to a retreat in upstate New York with a slew of fellow artist peers and industry mentors for intimate studio time. The track is out on FM Elle on June 13.
