Premiere: Brian Cid channels the mystifying outskirts of space on 'Pluto'

With a release on his own Extinct and a session late last year in the The Lab NYC with a memorable melodic set, Brooklyn-based Brian Cid has been been less than idle in the last several months. However, it's been a full year between his last release on Canadian imprint microcastle and now, Brian Cid is gearing up for an anticipated release of his EP 'Pluto' coming this April.

"Pluto explores a side of me that doesn't come out very often," Brian Cid says of the title track, which arrives ahead of the April 7 release date today on Mixmag. "A deep, emotional piece that brings up my darkest, yet most sensitive memories. It's this state of mind where the title ultimately originates from as it's the furthest and coldest planet of our solar system."

One listen of 'Pluto' transports listeners to that mystifying and alluring state of mind that Brian speaks of. The transcendent track is chalk full of spacey tones and grows as it progresses and remains rooted in the melancholic emotion that Cid mentions, but electronically explosive all throughout.

'Pluto' will arrive on April 7 on microcastle along with two other originals and a remix from Marvin & Guy. Hear the first listen of 'Pluto' below.
