Police reportedly attended rave that kept “half of Sheffield awake”
Officers were described as “friendly and professional” choosing not to shut the rave down to discourage people from driving home under the influence
New reports emerging from partygoers who attended the infamous rave on the night of February 25 that kept “half of Sheffield awake”, suggest that police officers were present at the event.
One raver told The Sheffield Tribune that the police officers were “friendly and professional” and were monitoring the party throughout the night.
The officers reportedly said that there would be a greater risk of shutting the party down, as it would be dangerous to make ravers drive home while under the influence, and instead letting it wind down naturally.

The event, which could be heard in neighbourhoods including Malin Bridge, Nether Edge, Hillsborough, Wybourn, Loxley, Millhouses, Meersbrook and beyond, reportedly finished at 3:PM on Sunday, February 26.
It took place at a field off of Ripon Street in Attercliffe, with around 100 people attending the event. Photographs taken from Instagram a large stack of Funktion One speakers being used at the event, and the combination of the soundsystem used and the central Sheffield location is believed to have been the cause of the noise.
When it was first reported, South Yorkshire Police originally told Mixmag it believed there were two separate raves that took place, with the locations unknown and unattended by officers.

Chief Inspector Gareth Thomas said: “Throughout the early hours of Sunday 26, police received multiple complaints about noise coming from an event at an unknown location in Sheffield.
“We appreciate that this caused significant noise disruption and affected members of the public across a large part of Sheffield. Despite enquiries and searches to seek to locate the source of the noise, officers were unfortunately unable to locate any event.”
