Pelvis are the Sydney-based DJ and fashion collective that have been tearing up Australia with raucous underground raves and kitting out its population with stylish wares since 2012.

Now the crew are spreading their wings even further with the launch of a label titled Pelvis Records, minting it with the ghetto-fuelled ‘Dance Freak Anthem’. It’s rough, sexy and vigorous, perfectly encapsulating the MO of a Pelvis dance party.

The 12” arrives backed with DJ Haus and DJ Nozaki remixes on the flip, while Mall Grab contributes a “Workers' Union remix” to the A-side.

Mall Grab is one of the leading lights of Australia’s fiercely bubbling underground, clocking up releases on labels spanning across the globe from Vancouver, through London, and home to his native Newcastle, New South Wales with the launch of his self-curated Steel City Dance Discs imprint earlier this year. Check out the Impact mix he turned in for us last month for an hour of unadulterated vibes.

‘Dance Freak (Mall Grab Workers' Union remix)’ sees the producer transform Pelvis’ raw offering into a sparkling number, infusing it with that feel good Mall Grab sound with a sprightly synth melody, yet still retaining the original’s sex appeal with good use of the sultry vocal sample. Check it out below.

'Dance Freak' is out on vinyl via Pelvis Records on September 23. The digital release follows on October 14, pre-order it here

Launch parties will be hosted in Melbourne and Sydney on September 23 and 30 respectively
