Oval Space relaunches as "Oval Studios" following license removal

Oval Space has announced its relaunch as a new hybrid space called Oval Studios.

In September, the former nightclub and multi-purpose venue known as Oval Space, had its license revoked following an alleged open fire shooting on the club’s dancefloor in August.

The 24-year-old victim was taken to hospital where his injuries were declared non-life threatening and since September 27, the nightclub has been closed.

The venue has under new ownership now been re-branded describing itself as “perfect for” TV, film, immersive experiences, brand and product launches, gallery exhibitions, awards and dinners.

On top of its rebrand, the venue has also been renovated with a mezzanine, in-house production and an onsite kitchen.

As a “clean, blank canvas” the website describes the studios as “East London's most versatile warehouse, reimagined”.

Available for hire from 6AM till midnight, the main room is available with a 900-person capacity as well as the west terrace and south terrace.

The studios are also now part of Spaces & Stories who already run venues such as Dockyards and Magazine.

Oval Space opened in 2013 capturing the creative scene with the likes of Frank Ocean to Vin Diesel attending the club whilst hosting a huge range of club nights with some of the biggest names in dance music.
