Orbital are reuniting for festival shows this summer

They plan to record a new album soon

Orbital will be back on the touring circuit this summer.

Phil and Paul Hartnoll have so far confirmed three festival appearances, starting with Forbidden Fruit in June, followed by Bluedot and Standon Calling in July.

The shows see seem them reunite after a five-year hiatus, in which they didn't speak to each other due to personal differences.

On their falling out, Paul said: “I didn’t speak to Phil for five years after we split in 2012. It was horrible. It's like a black stain on your heart. You feel terrible and you want to fix it.

"I tried to turn Phil into me, and that drove us both mad. Now it’s just, be yourself. Be you. So far it’s working brilliantly. It’s really good to be talking and working together again.”

Phil, the eldest of the pair, added: “I didn’t want to split up in the first place. For me it was always never say never again. But sometimes you need that break, so we left each other alone for a couple of years. And now it's all come round again.”

The duo say the upcoming gigs will be a chance to test out new material before recording their next album, the follow-up to 2012's 'Wonky'.

Grab their new 'Kinetic' mix from February 3 on Spotify and iTunes and see the festival dates below.
