He had nothing but praise for the grime superstar
Nile Rodgers, who presented Stormzy with the Best British Album award at the BRIT’s earlier this week has spoken about the experience on Matt Wilkinson’s Beats 1 show.
On Stormzy’s win he proclaimed, “not only did it feel right but I had a sense of pride”, and praised the grime artist for using his media position to speak out about the tragedy of Grenfell Tower.
He went on to recall his time volunteering after the tragedy saying, “I got there and I thought they were just going to go ‘oh my god, Nile Rodgers is here’. But I got there and they gave me some gloves. They said ‘you see that stuff over there? Go over there and sort it out’.”
