Nightmares On Wax announces live edition of 'Shout Out! To Freedom...'

Nightmares on Wax has announced the release of a live album, set to drop on October 28.

Recorded at Pikes in Ibiza, the live edition of 'Shout Out! To Freedom...' follows a gracious return to Glastonbury Festival earlier this year and a UK tour, with a band consisting of George Evelyn aka DJ E.A.S.E, Haile Supreme, Michael Alcaras, Antonie Blakstad, Marlon Lopez, Omar Alcaide, Alessandro Doretto and Kwake Bass.

First track 'Imagineering (Live)' is already available to listen to, which you can check out here.

“This live album really captures the very moments we came out of lockdown and were all able to be back together and perform again, whilst having the opportunity to express all that was felt in creating it," explains the former Mixmag cover star.

"We played this live with all the musicians from Ibiza, Haile Supreme came over from NYC after not being connected with him for a long time and we were able to perform in the legendary Pikes Ibiza. It was our first gig of the whole pandemic and was such a special feeling.

"To be part of the history in those walls is very special and dear to me because Ibiza is my home. This live album captures that energy and vibe as well as all the wonderful people that were chosen to join us for the event."

Although nine albums deep, lockdown seems to have forced a change of pace for the artist, perhaps reinforced through the emotionally-driven, celebratory feel within the forthcoming live album. “I've been gigging non-stop for 10 years, and that experience has been beautiful but it also drained me emotionally.”

"As a creative you're always questioning everything,” he continues. “So having the time and the space has meant that I could do a proper deep dive into this stuff. So it was all about this journey of going back to myself, and realising being at home with my wife and my daughter that I’ve not really been here properly. It’s like I've just woken back up to what I actually have - and it's already here.”

Whilst you wait for the forthcoming live album - which you can pre-order here, available via Warp Records - you can check out the video recorded at Pikes below.
