Producer and DJ Nickon Faith has released his debut album, ‘Circumambient’.

The 11 tracks draw inspiration from genres and musicians who have influenced his artistic journey since embarking upon producing seven years ago, in which soundscapes are blended with trance-like synths and gated vocal lines, organic samples and lively percussive elements.

There are also some tunes which incorporate influences from eastern music, with each track having its own distinctive character whilst constructing an overall story-like feel to the LP.

“The tracks in Circumambient have mainly been drawn from experiences I've had, and phases in life where thoughts are overwhelming, ever present and surrounding, which is why I chose the name ‘Circumambient’” explains Faith.

“With some of these songs having been worked on and constantly changed over a period of three or four years to get to where they are now, there’s a feeling as though everything is constantly just going around in circles, which really brings home the themes which are being conveyed: being stuck in this whirlwind of thoughts and emotion.”

He went onto describe the overall album process as puzzle-like, a “struggle” to an extent, in order to fit the pieces together - but also something which has been “incredibly fulfilling”.

Manchester-based Faith has experimented with a wide variety of sounds, which have ultimately tipped into the album. Having embraced various musical projects over the years, he has found an appeal for trance, breaks, techno and progressive house especially.
