New radio station 'Threads' to launch in London and Berlin
Based in Tottenham and Berlin, Threads is ‘a diverse, accessible and community-focused radio station’
A brand new Tottenham-based radio station, Threads, is launching on January 25.
The station will be based at The Cause and will provide a platform for upcoming, cutting-edge music along with talk-based content based on social and political issues that are important to the local community.
Threads is celebrating its launch with a party at The Cause on January 24 from 5pm, playing host to a wide variety of trailblazing talent ranging from live experimental electronics to DJs including Timothy J. Fairplay, Marie Malarie and Medallion Man, as well as punk, spoken word and stand-up comedy.
Describing itself as ‘a global station with a local focus’, Threads will also have a sister station in Berlin, Threads*, which will feature international collaborations focusing on issues facing local communities across the world.
The station has been put together by some of the team behind DIY station 199radio, which launched in April 2017 and ran out of New River Studios in Haringey, but no longer broadcasts.
