New nightclub to open within Peckham Palais building
The South London landmark has been acquired by Night Tales and Netil360 owners The Night Group
South London landmark Peckham Palais is set to reopen as a multi-room nightlife venue next year.
Palais comes from The Night Group, the team behind East London's Night Tales and Netil360 venues, and will officially open launch in February 2026.
The new venue is located in the disused 19th-century Jones & Higgins department store on Peckham High Street; the original department store was shuttered in 1980, with part of the building demolished to make room for the Aylesbury Shopping Centre.

The remaining structure was taken over by the Peckham Palais nightclub, a beloved venue which hosted a range of techno and dubstep nights until its closure in 2011. Since then, it has been listed as one of the most endangered Victorian buildings in London.
While there have been several proposals to relaunch the Peckham Palais building as a nightclub in the last few years, The Night Group has now restored the 11,000 sq. ft landmark into a fully-functioning event space.
The basement of the building, which will house the 500-capacity Palais, has been fitted out with a Funktion-One five-way soundsystem with "precision-tuned" sound treatment in the space.

“Palais is about being present. It’s a space to listen, to dance freely, and to connect, we’ve been developing the soundsystem for over a year," says co-founder Jamie Rule.
"We wanted to create something that moves through you. With infra bass, you can feel it, not just hear it. Now we want to see what people do with the space.”
The Night Group has also restored the first floor of the building in collaboration with interior design house Fare Inc, which will act as a 250-capacity cocktail bar and events space called The Ballroom.
“We wanted to be bold with this room. It brings fresh energy to a historically significant building. We’ve been ambitious with the design, and I can’t wait for people to experience it,” says co-founder Lottie Campbell.
