Experimental music venue IKLECTIK to reopen after two years in Peckham

Experimental music and art venue IKLECTIK is set to reopen after two years next month, taking over the gig space at Peckham Levels with a 13-month residency.

In what the venue is calling a “new chapter”, IKLECTIK will return on October 26 for an evening of “re-connection and re-rooting” after it was shuttered at its former Waterloo site in 2023.

“After having lost our first home, where for more than a decade we championed experimental music, performance, and socially engaged art in London, IKLECTIK is stepping into an exciting new phase,” they revealed on Instagram on Tuesday (September 16).

IKLECTIK will return with support from The Trampery, service provider of the venue appointed by Southwark Council, taking over an indoor gig space.

The venue’s new home will be “transformed into a year-round hub for live experimental music, cross-disciplinary performance, and community engagement,” IKLECTIK says.

“This new hub will deepen our mission; bringing together underground culture, emerging voices, and more renowned artists to collaborate, experiment, and reimagine futures.”

IKLECTIK also promises that, over the coming months, the programme will be built out alongside a growing team, as it prepares for a “powerful opening season”.

In November 2023, IKLECTIK revealed that their future was in jeopardy as they faced eviction from their site at Old Paradise Yard in Waterloo. It followed a lengthy battle against planned developments in the area.

The first event at IKLECTIK’s new home is set to go ahead on Sunday, October 26, from 5:PM until 10:PM, with a programme yet to be announced. Find out more here, and check out a video from IKLECTIK below.
