New music on our radar this week: Arca, John Glacier, Ahadadream

Welcome to Mixmag’s round-up of upcoming music releases that you should take note of

Ahadadream links up with Dismantle and Jamakabi on new single

Ahadadream has dropped a new single titled ‘Left/Right’ via Astralwerks.

The track is a collaboration with producer Dismantle and grime don Jamakabi, merging heavyweight bass, punchy percussion and ice-cold bars. 

“As someone who grew up in love with grime, it’s an honour to collaborate with one of the OGs, Jamakabi. His voice on seminal classic records like ‘Pow’ is so iconic, and shaped my discovery of UK music,” says Ahadadream. “Dismantle is an artist who I’ve been inspired by for the longest time, having first booked him for one of my parties more than 10 years ago and also going on to release his music on my label with Sam Interface, More Time Records. Feels like a perfect storm and I’m so happy with how it’s sounding.”

Djrum has a new EP coming out on Houndstooth 

Djrum has released another track from his upcoming EP, ‘I Wander’.

The six-track record is coming out via Houndstooth on August 14, with each track titled ‘I Wander’ alongside Roman numerals from I through to VII.

‘I Wander (IV + V)’, which is listed as one cut on the tracklist, was shared on announcement, exploring off-kilter percussion, melancholic piano and unhinged bass. Now the even more hectic ‘I Wander (III)’ follows.

“What’s the difference between a song, a track, a work, a piece? I am interested in playing with these distinctions...I Wander can be digested in bitesize chunks, or taken as a whole. Each track tells a different story on their own, but taken as a whole, a different narrative is revealed,” says Djrum.

John Glacier is a ‘Bond Girl’ on new single

John Glacier has released a new single, ‘Bond Girl’.

The single is a collaboration with Take A Daytrip, who have worked with the likes of Travis Scott, Kid Cudi and Dua Lipa. 

It marks the London artist’s first music release of the year, following her debut album ‘Like A Ribbon’ landing in 2025.

Only Fire is releasing a new album this summer, ‘Hoe Weekend’

Only Fire is self-releasing his second album, ‘Hoe Weekend’, on August 21.

The 10-track LP from the Croatia-hailing, Berlin-based artist features a collaboration with horsegiirL.

It marks the follow-up to his 2020 debut full-length, ‘Double Penetration’, and is set to showcase a more empowered take on his hypersexualised style of club music, melding hard techno, hyperpop, trap, Jersey club and more

Lancey Foux reveals release date for long-awaited album ‘THE TIME OF OUR LIVES’

Former Mixmag cover star and UK rap great Lancey Foux has announced the release of his long-awaited third album ‘THE TIME OF OUR LIVES’, landing next month.

The record, also dubbed ‘TTOOL’, marks the close of Lancey Foux’s 20s while zooming into the latest chapter of his life and career, fusing his distinct rap and drill sound with electronic music and “Afro-influenced rhythms".

"It starts energetic," he says of the 21-track record. "Then somewhere it gets dark and distorted. That's the reality of how I feel sometimes. Even when everything looks exciting, there's always another side to it."

The announcement comes alongside the release of a new single, ‘ROCKSTAR RIDER’. The full album is set to land on August 28.

Barry Can't Swim drops new French touch-inspired track ‘Dance Dance Dance’

Barry Can’t Swim is back with his latest single ‘Dance Dance Dance’ following May’s ‘Return To Bhibo’, which marked his return to production after almost a year and the start of a new era for the Scottish producer.

The new single fuses synth and keytar melodies while taking cues from French touch, one that he says is “one of my favourite tracks I’ve ever made".

"The past year I’ve been working on a bunch of new tunes and really immersing myself in the music of my childhood," he says. "Early noughties dance records that felt so joyous and simple, reflecting a time that felt that way too."

Osmosis Jones shares new EP 'Saturday'

Australian UKG star Osmosis Jones has shared his new EP ‘Saturday’ via his own imprint INTHEHOUSE; the four-track project is inspired by the rowdiest night of the week, and is overflowing with nods to classic UK garage sounds.

 "Saturday EP is my first release on INTHEHOUSE Records in almost two years," says Jones. The four tracks capture my sound better than anything I’ve put out so far, blending classic UK garage, speed garage and bassline with a smooth but club-focused feel. All tried and tested with great success in my sets!"

Arca shares two new singles via XXXXX livestream

Arca shared two new singles via her 'XXXXX' livestream on Thursday (July 23), which are set to feature on her forthcoming album of the same name, due to drop via XL Recordings on July 31.

Directed by Daniel Sannwald, with lighting design by Matiere Noire, the two-hour broadcast was staged live from Barcelona and saw Arca perform the entirety of the new album across distinct locations within an abandoned factory.

During the stream new singles 'Fxck' and 'Finisher' debuted, alongside the album's closer 'Sueño'; listen below.
