BBC Radio 1 is returning to Ibiza for its Dance Weekend

BBC Radio 1 is back in the White Isle this summer for the return of its Dance Weekend.

The flagship party takes place on Friday, July 31, at 528 Ibiza with Disclosure, Jazzy, Gorgon City and Josh Baker on the line-up for the two stage event. 

The Radio 1 Main Stage is outdoors in the garden, before the event moves inside with the Radio 1 Dance Stage. Other acts set to play include Arielle Free, Lu.Re, Pete Tong and Sarah Story,

 “It’s probably no surprise that out of all the incredible events Radio 1 does, Ibiza is the one I look forward to the most,” says Danny Howard. “There’s something special about bringing the Radio 1 Dance family and the magic of the island together once a year that has given us so many legendary moments. I’ve got a feeling this year is going to be one of the best yet and I can’t wait to get back to 528, see you on the terrace!”

Also across the weekend, Radio 1 Dance is involved in takeovers at major Ibiza nightspots.

An official afterparty is being hosted at Hï Ibiza on July 31, with Dom Dolla, KI/KI, Dean Turnley, Anna Lunoe and Ewan McVicar B2B DART playing. 

On August 1, the festivities move across to ANTS at Ushuaïa Ibiza with Cloonee, SOSA, Sarah Story, Julian Fijma and Emma 2000, before the weekend closes out with Carl Cox at [UNVRS], where he’ll be joined by Skepta, SYREETA B2B TSHA, Nakadia and Más Tiempo.

Snowbombing Festival unveils first names for 2027

Austria’s Snowbombing Festival has revealed the first three names joining the bill for its next edition, set to take over the snowy mountains of Mayrhofen, Austria, from April 5 - 10, 2027.

Joint headliners Fatboy Slim and BICEP – who will perform live – were revealed this week, as well as Rossi., each set to appear at the festival’s 27th edition next spring.

Snowbombing has also announced several “wellness, adventure and après activities”, including yoga, comedy, brunches, spa sessions and ski or snowboard sessions, with early bird tickets available now.

New Slovenian festival Fort X to take over historic castle this autumn

A brand new festival is launching this autumn in Slovenia, taking over the historic Mokrice Castle in Brežice from September 5 - 6, promising to bring “modern sounds” to its “ancient walls”.

The festival will take place inside the 15th century castle, with a line-up currently featuring Âme, Maceo Plex, Butch, Dixon, Fiona Kraft, and more across two days.

“A brand new open-air festival concept, set within the walls and forests of an historic Slovenian castle,” Fort X revealed earlier this year. “Somewhere between past and present, ancient walls will meet modern sound.”

Jazz Cafe Festival returns for 2026 with stacked line-up

London's Jazz Cafe Festival is returning next weekend for its third edition, landing at Burgess Park for one day only on Sunday, August 2, with more than 20 artists across four stages.

This year's edition is set to be headlined by Ari Lennox, who is joined by the likes of Greentea Peng, Anish Kumar, Dan Shake, Arthi, Nightmares On Wax, System Olympia, and Mafalda throughout the day.

Nyege Nyege announces first European off-shoot festival, MIRROR WORLD

Uganda's Nyege Nyege will make its European debut across September 25-26 in Brussels, Belgium, with MIRROR WORLD, a "two-day immersive festival celebrating African dance music, diasporic cultures, and artistic exploration."

Details and line-up will be shared in the coming months. Speaking on the new festival, Nyege Nyege said in a statement: “We feel like having a small home in Brussels will help bring our European community together and grow it, in turn creating lots of opportunities to showcase new artists. Seeing and attending so many festivals over the last 10 years, we felt we could bring a different kind of sauce to the party”.
