Invite-only club from team behind Bossa Nova Civic announces New York launch
Venus In Furs is a multi-story venue in Brooklyn
Venus In Furs is the new project from the team behind Bossa Nova Civic, a multi-story venue throwing exclusive, invite-only affairs.
The club only announced its launch for the first time on Monday, April 11, despite hosting multiple parties through winter. Venus In Furs is located in New York’s Bed-Stuy neighbourhood bordering on Brooklyn.

“As you may have heard, we have been working on a new spot for quite some time,” announced Bossa Nova Civic on Instagram on Monday. “We’ve been keeping it top secret until now but seems like it may be time to slowly open the gates.”
The club, locally known as Paragon, has a strict invite-only policy and an exclusive RSVP process, encouraging clubbers to head to the club’s website to make a reservation, although this doesn’t guarantee entry.
Since the start of the year, the club has hosted several exclusive parties, one of which hosted in collaboration with New York-based promoters Dweller.
The new club posted a series of photos of the space on Instagram since Monday’s announcement, showing the multi-story venue and its mezzanine decks, bars, and checkered dancefloor.

Inside, Venus In Furs also features sensory lighting, a risen DJ booth behind glass balustrades, and a second room for club-goers.
The venue comes from the owner of iconic New York club Bossa Nova Clinic, John Barclay, which recently became “significantly damaged” after a fire broke out in one of the flats above the club.
One person was seriously injured and a dog died following the fire. A GoFundMe page was subsequently launched in aid of the club’s restoration, funding for staff, and money toward the tenants.
Venus In Furs’ next club night takes place tomorrow night from 9:PM to 3:AM. RSVP here, or find out more at the club here.
