HBO's Donna Summer documentary 'Love To Love You' set for release this spring

A new documentary following the life of Donna Summer will be out this spring.

Titled Love To Love You, this upcoming documentary from HBO has been co-directed between Oscar and Emmy winner Roger Ross Williams and Summer’s daughter, Brooklyn Sudano.

Comprised of home footage and never-seen-before clips, the documentary is described by HBO as a “deeply personal portrait of Summer on and off the stage.”

Some parts of the film include archived photographs and videos shot by the late Summer herself which explore her passion for songwriting and painting.

HBO also describes the upcoming film to be “shaped by Summer’s own reflections, the memories of close family, friends and colleagues, and filled with the sounds of Summer’s songs”.

Famously known as the “Queen of Disco”, Summer began her career in Munich in a blues band before meeting her husband, the producer Giorgio Moroder.
