Neneh Cherry announces new rework album, 'The Versions'

Swedish singer and songwriter Neneh Cherry is returning this June with her first record in four years, ‘The Versions’.

After a consistent stream of singles across the past four years, Neneh Cherry has announced a ten-track LP featuring artists from the likes of Robyn, Sudan Archives, ANOHNI, Greentea Peng, and Sia.

The album is made up of reworks from some of Neneh’s biggest and most beloved tracks, including ‘Manchild’ and ‘Buffalo Stance’.

The singer recently tapped Sia to take on a new updated version of her 1989-released ‘Manchild’, which dropped yesterday via EMI. “Neneh was my favourite artist when she hit the scene,” the singer said.

“I saved my pocket money for red Filas and dreamt one day we would meet. When I was struggling with my mental health in my early twenties, I somehow ended up in their house being taken care of as if I was one of their own children.”

“I called her husband during a suicide attempt, who had been mentoring me as an incredible music producer, and they gave me all the love I could have dreamt of,” she added in a press release.
