Mun Sing - aka Harry Wright of duo Giant Swan - has announced their debut album, 'Inflatable Gravestone'.

Set for release on June 2, the record's motivation arose following the sudden loss of Wright's father in 2020, exploring ideas of spirituality and the higher self in relation to addiction and the parallels it draws with coping with grief. It simultaneously aims to highlight the importance of humour and distraction when coping with loss.

"The concept of the video was inspired by a very vivid dream I had about a three legged horse," explains Wright. "I found out that in Danish folklore, a three legged horse is referred to as a 'Helhest' and is seen as a symbol of death. Once the Helhest approaches you, you are supposed to bargain with it for your life by offering it a bag of oats. I also think the horse could've symbolised my dog Fluffy has also three legs (and has since passed away). The video sees me on this journey in search of the Helhest, using clues and artefacts from reality to try and locate it again in my dreams. I worked closely with the director, Ben, who has brought this vision to life in his own amazing way."

"I was inspired by the narrative sci fi trope you see in films like Stalker, to have this nearly psychedelic journey into this strange "zone" controlled by this Helhest spirit, using various artefacts and symbolic objects I gave to Harry to explore deeper into the woods on his journey," adds director Ben Dosage. "Sam Pilbeam jointly directed this and was a great person to bounce ideas off. After filming, I melted the footage with NErF scanning and stable diffusion, layered with other post production techniques digitally."

'Inflatable Gravestone' is a record intended to serve as a narrative for Wright's own experiences, largely centred around dancefloor-focussed tracks, ocasionally interrupted by moments of yearning and reflection through cuts such as 'The Poison Garden' and 'Helhest (Azrael Smirks)'.

Closing on titular track 'Inflatable Gravestone' - a deeply personal, twisting and turning cut - the LP in its entirety navigates feelings of deep anger, solace and all between such emotions to mark an intensely heartfelt debut album from Wright.

In tandem with the album's release, Mun Sing is heading on tour throughout June. Dates are as follows:

June 2: Bristol, Strange Brew

June 3: Shipley, Golden Cabinet

June 8: London, Peckham Audio

June 9: Glasgow, Flying Duck

June 10: Manchester, White Hotel

June 15: Berlin, Panke

June 23: Bialystok, Up To Date Festival
