Multi Culti Soundsystem feat Dreems, Thomas Von Party & Ccolo in The Lab SYD
World-spanning sounds
Montreal-hailing imprint Multi Culti has been cruising along a winding path of exotic soundwaves since 2013. A distinct yet eclectic aesthetic has emerged from its notably diverse release history, combining a mixed mythology of multiple cultures, where real and imagined jungles, temples and dancefloors are juxtaposed with technology, mind-bending chemicals and cutting edge vegan alchemy.
Having released music from Nicola Cruz, Red Axes, Manfredas, Sascha Funke, The Voodoohop Collective, Zongamin, Clarian & a cast of pan-global musical minds, the record outlet has threaded together a sound from the furthest reaches of our planet that consistently defies classification – it’s a blend of organics and synthetics, of folk traditions and techno innovations that aims ambitiously to create something new and fresh, to mutate and evolve our cross cultural DNA.
Ring masters Dreems and Thomas Von Party combine forces to helm the label, each standing as significant scene players having run labels and nightclubs, as well as tattoo parlours, marionette clinics, and epic massage parties. Dreems currently curates an incredible chillout series called Sleepmix, while TVP hosts Multi Culti Transmissions, a radio show that converges myriad genres under one psychedelic roof. Veteran DJs, all around friendly guys, and increasingly impressive producers, these dudes are lifers in the bizz and deservedly so.
Ccolo will join the pair for an unmissable Multi Culti Soundsystem showcase at The Lab SYD this Friday, February 3, which will be broadcast live from 6:30pm (AEST). You can watch the set in full over on our Facebook page and head to Mixmag TV for the full Lab SYD Playlist.
