Forget about having to fork out thousands of pounds on a modular synth: Moog has made the Model 15 available on a screen.
Dedicated synth heads will may be turning their noses up, but those who want to have a virtual taste of the modular instrument can now do so on the iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone.
The company says: "Each facet of the Moog Model 15 modular synthesizer has been meticulously recreated in this application to ensure the power and transcendent sound quality of each module remains intact.
"The character, harmonic complexity and mystique of the Moog Model 15s modules, from the legendary Moog 921–series oscillators and 904A Low Pass Filter, to the coveted 907 Fixed Filter Bank have been painstakingly preserved."
Only compatible with iOS version 9.3.1 or later, zooming, panning and modular patching feels "completely natural" due to it being designed with Apple's Metal technology. The traditional Moog keyboard is also featured, accompanied by a 1150 ribbon controller and 8-step sequencing arpeggiator.
There's also 160 unique presets, tutorials with varying difficulties and the ability to be used with Ableton.
Download it at Moog for $2.99.
