It was two years ago that Maya Jane Coles did her first magazine cover shoot. It was for the May 2011 issue of Mixmag and we declared her the "new queen of the underground".
Fast forward to the present and it's safe to say that Coles has lived up to our declaration. She has racked up 13 more global magazine covers, started her own I Am Me label and is now celebrating the release of her fantastic debut album 'Comfort'.
As a performer, she has matured from playing small UK basement gigs to headlining shows in more than 30 countries over the past 18 months, cementing her status as a key player in house music.
Don't miss your chance to catch one of the queens of house music in the flesh as Coles returns to her London home for a special one-off performance hosted by Mixmag.
Support comes from Kim Ann Foxman, the New York house DJ who's collaborated with Hercules And Love Affair and is currently carving a unique career of her own. We've also got Dirtybird's leading lady, J Phlip. Channelling the booty, bassy swager of San Francisco and the focused, heads-down thump of Berlin, she's the perfect fit for the Village Underground's intimate dancefloor.
