Minnie Mouse has curated a Disney lo-fi hip hop album
No word from Mickey...
Disney has released a compilation of some of its biggest hits reimagined as lo-fi hip hop instrumentals, curated by the studio's very own Minnie Mouse.
The compilation album contains reworked classics such as 'I Just Can't Wait To Be King' from the Lion King and 'You've Got a Friend in Me' from Toy Story.
‘Lofi Minnie: Focus’ has been curated by Minnie Mouse, and features musicians such as Purrple Cat, Dutch producer Eevee and harpist Hippo Dreams - who all contribute to the ambitious rework of these staple beloved tracks.

You've guessed it, these upbeat melodic tracks have been transformed into ambient study-ready tracks, and have been made fit for a genre that aids concentration and relaxation.
Usually, lof-fi music is instrumental and tracks are often in the beat range of 70-90 BPM, to match the human heart rate. Lo-fi sounds supposedly trigger parts of the brain which help with focus.
Disney said to the BBC: “Disney and Minnie Mouse are a natural fit with lo-fi, especially with Minnie’s interests in creativity, music, and wellness leaning into lo-fi’s penchant for self-expression and its calming meditative properties.
“What attracted us to lo-fi is the ability to reimagine our songs in a completely new way that combines the soothing benefits of lo-fi with the wonder and nostalgia that Disney has to offer. Lo-fi and Disney are both a great source of comfort, so the two make for a perfect match.”

The artwork for the album seems to be inspired by the infamous Lofi Girl YouTube channel which live streams and uploads videos of lo-fi hip hop beats with a cartoon image of a girl studying in a cosy looking room.
In the artwork for 'Lofi Minnie: Focus', we can see the 93-year old mouse working on her desk in a tidy room and with some picturesque mountains visible in the background.
