Maya Jane Coles asks 'Would You Kill (4 Me)?' on new EP
It’s out via her own I/AM/ME imprint
Maya Jane Coles released a new EP ‘Would You Kill (4 Me)?’ on Friday 17 July via her own I/AM/ME imprint.
‘Would You Kill (4 Me)?’ is a housey, club-focused EP that demonstrates that understated restraint can be just as effective as loud, in-your-face beats.

The title track is vaguely menacing, the occasional throb of the bass lending a certain urgency to it. The vocal sample in ‘Sweet Luv’ harks back to ‘What They Say’, and is a reminder of Coles’ trademark style that first brought her to recognition. The final track, ‘Piano Magic’, is a classic bassy Maya Jane Coles house track, throbbing with energy but uplifted by the clattering piano loop.
‘Would You Kill (4 Me)?’ follows a string of single releases in 2020, including ‘Run to You’, featuring Claudia Kane on vocals.
