Back on Futureboogie, the Brighton producer gives us the lead track from his forthcoming EP
There's no stopping Maxxi Soundsystem right now. He's been prolific in the couple of months, showering us with both originals and remixes.
Last month saw him release the 'Medicine' 12" on Culprit, reuniting with regular collaborator Name One. We got the premiere of the screwing title track, followed a few months later by a jumpy synth remix of Sylvan Esso's 'H.S.K.T'.
After three years away from Futureboogie, the Bristol label he released 'Into The Future' on, the Brighton producer returns with the 'In The Woods' EP.
While the two versions of 'Near Me' are geared more towards celebratory dancefloor action, the title track's the more solemn of the three cuts. Wooden blocks click, drawn out synths hover and rattling percussion past the halfway mark ensures it's not just a moody crooner the whole way through.
