Massive Attack are going on a ‘Mezzanine’ anniversary tour next year
21 years after their chart-topping album was released
Massive Attack have announced a new tour to celebrate 21 years since they released ‘Mezzanine’.
XX1, which will tour through Europe in February and March 2019, will use “custom audio reconstructed from the original samples and influences.”
The Bristolian trip hop group will visit their hometown, London, Glasgow and Manchester as part of the tour, which Robert Del Naja, aka 3D, describes as a “personalised nostalgia nightmare head trip” and says is "a one-off piece of work.”
The tour will feature the Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser, who can be heard on 1998 track ‘Teardrop’. More collaborators are to be announced at a later date.
Pre-sale tickets will be available for selected shows from 10am on October 31, while general sale tickets will be available from November 2.
