Massive Attack announce 'Mezzanine' reissue for 20 year anniversary
Packaged with a handful of unheard Mad Professor remixes
The seminal UK band Massive Attack will release a 20-year anniversary reissue of their wildly influential double-platinum album, 'Mezzanine', later this year.
The two-CD and three-LP re-master of this commanding album will include eight remixes from the Mad Professor that were intended for release on a Mad Professor 'Mezzanine' remix album which never saw the light of day.
Two of the tracks from Mad Professor are dub mixes of tracks that were not included on the original Mezzanine album but hail from the same period.
According to their press release, two of the eight Mad Professor remixes on the reissue are of "tracks not originally featured on 'Mezzanine' but from the same period – 'Metal Banshee' – a dub version of 'Superpredators' which was a cover of Siouxie and the Banshee’s Metal Postcard – and 'Wire', a track they recorded for the soundtrack of the film 'Welcome to Sarajevo'."
The two-CD reissue will be available on November 16 and the three-LP vinyl box set will drop on November 30. Pre-order here
