The Lab SYD is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly live stream powered by Void acoustics, where we showcase both the finest Australian talent and quality international stars passing through the city.

This week we're delighted to welcome the Mantra Collective ahead of one of Australia's most-loved boutique weekenders, Return To Rio.

Over the last few months alone Mantra Collective has been responsible for bringing the likes of Dana Ruh, FUSE London and DJ W!ld to Sydney. A host of quality nights including a vinyl-only series Black And Gold, combined with a much-hyped residency on FBI radio and countless on-point sets have ensured these local favourites are the go to crew for quality house and techno.

Set along the riverbanks of Hawkesbury in South Wales, this year's Return To Rio will welcome Dixon, Mano Le Tough, Sebastien Leger, the Adana Twins, Recondite (Live), Mantra Collective and loads more for three nights and two days of grooves to close out the Australian Summer. Get tickets here.

This week's The Lab SYD kicks off at the usual time of 6pm and you can tune in either below or on MixmagTV.

The Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about bringing fans closer to the DJs. Giving up and coming talent a platform and throwing unique events where fans and artists can party together. Check out more from the Sound Collective here
