Man Power shares new record on La La's Sound As Records

Man Power has landed on La La's 2022-launched Sound As Records with new EP 'Fast As Fuck'.

Jokingly named, the two tracker has seen Man Power - aka Geoff Kirkwood, who too works under aliases MPX and Bed Wetter - reach the highest tempo yet for the Man Power project. Still remaining tight with its roots by channeling an all-in trope encompassing sounds such as Detroit-inspired techno, pumping house and old school hip-hop, the record is a club-primed production.

Opener 'Moody Bastard' kicks things off with rolling percussives before pounding kicks take the helm, with sprinklings of melodic chimes, before 'Pick a Number Choose a Colour' opts for bouncing breakbeats and chopped vocals.

It's groove-infused, heaped with enticing curveballs and funky hits.

"We're really excited to be releasing Man Power's latest EP," La La tells Mixmag on the release. "Man Power has already remixed a track for Brand New Records so it's amazing to have him release on our sister label with two great, club focused tracks. We've a lot planned on both Brand New and Sound As over the coming year, so keep an eye out for sure.”

“I'm a big fan of La La’s and I’ve been enjoying watching her grow and grow over the last years four or five years that we’ve been in touch," adds Man Power. "I think she’s the real deal so it felt really natural to say yes when she asked me if I wanted to make something for her new label."
